The World Affairs Council helps students understand their world – the cultures, peoples, economies, and geography as well as the conflicts, challenges, and possibilities.

There are over 500,000 students in Orange County.

Orange County has a great global future. And that’s why it’s important to reach out to our next generation.

The Council’s Board of Trustees launched a major news educational effort, aimed primarily at high school and university students in Orange County.

Our goal is to help our future leaders gain a better understanding of the world in which they live; the challenges and opportunities they will face, and how they can contribute and benefit from the growing internationalization of their community and nation.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, the Council invites outstanding students to each program as our guests, where they can meet and question our speakers first-hand. The response has been overwhelming, with both students and teachers asking us when they can come back!

The Council also offers student and family memberships, so parents can bring their high school age children to events.

And we offer reduced student rates for our programs.

We are committed to international education in our schools, and we’re looking at other ideas and programs as well.
