The fellowship is structured and designed for undergraduates, recent graduates, or graduate students with a demonstrated interest in international affairs and in gaining experience in working for a member-based non-profit organization.

Fellowship Descriptions

Eligibility/Commitment

1) Candidates must be a senior in college, recently graduated, or a graduate student
2) Candidates must be willing to commit a minimum of 20 hours/week
3) The fellowship is 6-month program (one year preferred)
4) The Marketing, Research and Development, and Operations Fellow requires mandatory event attendance

Candidates should have prior experience in a professional office setting, strong computer skills, the capacity to balance and efficiently prioritize a range of responsibilities, and strong oral and written communication skills. It is critical that the candidate is committed to the World Affairs Council of Orange County’s mission.

Requirement

Every fellow is required to work during their fellowship on a project that will target key organizational priorities. These projects must encompass three main points: continuity, progress, and sustainability. The project is expected to be implemented and completed, two weeks before the fellowship ends. On the last week of the fellowship, the fellows will present their projects to their staff supervisors and the relevant Executive Board committee.

Compensation:
The fellowship program is unpaid; however, a $1000 stipend for 6 month commitment (1 year – $2000) will be awarded at the end of the term, as well as access to WACOC speakers and events including lunch/dinner and any related parking fees.
