Stand with Us to Celebrate and Protect Human Rights – Register for Human Rights Day!

The United Nations Association of Orange County, in collaboration with our UNA chapter at Soka University, is honored to host this year’s Human Rights Day event. Together, we commemorate the transformative power of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), signed on December 10, 1948, by Eleanor Roosevelt and world leaders. This foundational document enshrines 30 universal rights that continue to protect dignity, equality, and justice for all people.

Our theme this year, “Human Rights for All: Bringing the 30 Articles of the UDHR to Life and Society,” reflects our commitment to addressing the pressing human rights concerns of today. This event offers a powerful opportunity to reconnect with these universal principles, to explore their relevance to our daily lives, and to reflect on the role we all play in advancing justice and resilience in our communities.

Event Highlights:

  • Inspiring Panel Discussion: Hear from human rights advocates on the impact of the UDHR both locally and globally, and the challenges we face in ensuring these rights are upheld for everyone.
  • Interactive Q&A Session: Engage with panelists, ask questions, and explore ways to make a positive impact in your community.
  • Memory Box Activity: Share your thoughts, hopes, or concerns about human rights by contributing a personal note to our memory box. We’ll preserve these reflections for future events, building a lasting shared vision.
  • Human Rights & SDGs Snack Station: Enjoy refreshments inspired by human rights and sustainable development goals, adding a unique layer to the experience.

Whether you’re a human rights advocate, community leader, student, or someone drawn to the values of justice and dignity, we welcome you to join us. This event is more than a celebration—it’s an invitation to engage, reflect, and strengthen our collective commitment to human rights.

Space is limited, so please secure your spot by registering through the link above. Let’s come together to build a world that upholds these principles and fosters hope, unity, and resilience.
